Mersi Kurniati  is a lecturer at the Division of Biophysics, Department of Physics, IPB University.  Her research interests include polymer composites, usage of cassava pulp/carrageenan/cornhusk as raw materials of hydrogel as biodegradable materials is an effort to reduce the use of non-renewable resources produced by synthetic materials hydrogels.  She also has investigated encapsulation for drug delivery system and bioplastic for packaging. Some of the research results were also nominated as the Most Prospective Indonesian Innovation according to the Business Innovation Center for 2015 and 2017.
