Career Perspective

Career Perspective

Based on study from APS (American Physical Society), only about 3% of undergraduate physics program continue their career path as academician (Lecturer, Professor). The other 11% will become scientist or teacher, while the rest (86%) will take the job in industry, including high-end industries such as IT specialist, Software engineer, Financial analyst, data scientist, etc https://www.aps.org/programs/education/conferences/upload/Careers-In-Physics-Talk.pdf . For example, Elon Musk who own Space-X and Tesla with a net worth of 219 Billion USD, had his bachelor degree from physics and economics. So this fact dispels the myth that taking a physics degree program will end up as a professor/academic staff only.
