[5 September 2022] IPB University Student from the Physics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) successfully gained a gold medal in Open Bioproject Competition (OBC). This competition is a part of the International Conference of Biology for Students (ICoBioS) 2022 which was conducted online. The top five teams will get a total of 50 million rupiahs.

The team consisted of David Graciano, Alfian Herdiyanto, and Muhammad Septian Maulana under the guidance of Dr Setyanto Tri Wahyudi, a lecturer from the Physics Department.

In that opportunity, the team presented research with the title Reassessment of Helicase Interaction with Various Drug Candidates with a summary that the reassessment process will show data on complex helicase and ligand structure that is considered essential for medicine development in the future.

“This achievement is glory for bachelor students of Physics Department. For the past three years, they have always gained gold medals in international competition,” said Prof Tony Sumaryada, Head of Physics Department, FMIPA IPB University.
